Hillary Clinton Calls for Funding Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz to Fight the Zika Virus

Planned Parenthood wants to get its hands on more taxpayer funding by exploiting the Zika virus scare. And on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton came to the abortion group’s aid.

While visiting Florida where there is heightened concern about the virus, Clinton demanded that Congress pass federal aid bills that include funding for Planned Parenthood, Christian Today reports. She blamed Republicans for not passing the bills before Congress recessed for the summer.

“I am very disappointed that the Congress went on recess before actually agreeing on what they would do to put the resources into this fight,” Clinton said. “I would very much urge the leadership of Congress to call people back for a special session and get a bill passed.”

For months, Democrats have been calling for immediate aid to combat the virus; but in May, they shifted positions and began blocking a $1.1 billion aid bill because of a minor provision that prohibits funding to a few non-essential Planned Parenthood facilities in Puerto Rico.

A growing international health scare, Zika has been linked to birth defects in newborns, one being microcephaly, a brain disorder that is not typically fatal but can cause health problems throughout the child’s life. Abortion advocates have been using the link as an excuse to push for more abortions on babies with disabilities. Some pro-abortion groups even have been scaring women into aborting their unborn babies without knowing if they have Zika or if their unborn baby has a disability.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control reported knowing of at least 479 pregnant women who have been infected with Zika in the U.S. Six of the women’s unborn babies died in miscarriages or abortions, while 15 others were born with birth defects, the CDC reports. Experts predict that southern states in the U.S. will see more cases this summer.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

Here’s more from the Washington Post:

The Republican National Committee accused Clinton of “playing politics” with the health crisis.

“If Hillary Clinton was really concerned about Zika, she’d be telling her running mate, Tim Kaine, to stop blocking funding in the Senate instead of holding a photo op,” RNC spokesman Michael Short said.

That was a reference to Democrats’ rejection of Republican funding proposals that they said came attached with politically motivated strings, including about funding for Planned Parenthood.

In an op-ed at the Palm Beach Post, U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Florida, pointed out that there are many places in Puerto Rico where women and their families can receive medical help if they contract Zika. He said there are 20 health centers and 84 service sites, compared to just a handful of Planned Parenthood facilities.

Even the liberal fact-checking website Politifact debunked Democrats’ claims that the funding for Planned Parenthood is necessary to aid the fight against Zika.

Clinton, however, is Planned Parenthood’s “champion.” Along with urging for the current funding bills, she also promised the abortion chain that she would work to repeal the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to directly fund abortions. Clinton also promised to nominate U.S. Supreme Court justices who will ensure that Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand up until birth remain the law of the land for years to come.

At the end of July, Planned Parenthood Vice President Dawn Laguens called Clinton “the strongest nominee we’ve ever seen.”
