Planned Parenthood asked Democrat billionaire George Soros for $1.5 million after a series of undercover videos exposed its sale of aborted fetal organs last summer, a leaked document shows.

A $1.5 million injection to help Planned Parenthood fight the “unprecedented” attack is proposed in the document, which was prepared by Soros’ dark money arm, the Open Society Policy Center.

The Center for Medical Progress videos include footage of top Planned Parenthood doctors and executives frankly discussing the way fetuses are pulled from the womb, dissected for choice parts, and then shipped off to scientists for research. CMP alleged Planned Parenthood illegally profited from the exchange. (RELATED: How The New York Times Covered The Planned Parenthood Videos)

“While Planned Parenthood has had to defend against a variety of attacks by abortion opponents in recent years, the release of these videos and the related attacks were severe and without warning,” the funds proposal first reported by The Washington Free Beacon reads. (RELATED: NYT, Washington Post Won’t Cover Soros Leaks)

The document outlines Planned Parenthood’s strategy to spend between $7 and $8 million to fight the negative press, impending legal battles and the push from Republicans to strip abortionists of half a billion dollars in annual federal funds.

Planned Parenthood especially needed lobbying funds, according to the document, because the group ran through nearly all of those funds in the weeks immediately following the release of the videos. The strategy also included heightened security measures, work with crisis-oriented public relations firms, community organizing and an army of lawyers.

It’s unclear from the document whether Planned Parenthood ever actually received the proposed cash.
