Operation Demoralize Is in Full Swing

Operation Demoralize Is in Full Swing

A self-fulfilling narrative.

This race is too close to call.

A shift in any state could change the outcome. The Real Clear Politics No-Toss Ups map (Featured Image) has Hillary winning by a few electoral points.

She could win by a few, lose by a few, or win by a lot. It’s that volatile.

Overall, she’s up about 3% in national polls. You can’t ignore that. I’d rather be up 3 than down 3 any day.

real-clear-politics-polls-11-7-2016

It’s not a question of “unskew” or any of the other things we heard in 2012.

It’s just a matter that there are still so many toss-up states, as this RCP chart shows:

real-clear-electoral-map-11-7-2016

But to to read the headlines, it’s over. Trump is done. Turn out the lights, write the obituaries, the election is history.

This is the same tactic always used. Here is what I wrote in 2012, Operation Demoralize is working just as planned:

It’s November 7.  Barack Obama has won.  The Republican presidential strategy has failed.  The media is jubilant.  The right-blogosphere is going through a serious introspection.  The left-blogosphere is dancing on our graves and shoving it down our throats.  Four years of fighting the Obama agenda was for nothing.

Oh, I’m sorry.  Let me correct that.  It’s September 9, not November 7.  The rest of the paragraph above can remain as originally written.

Operation Demoralize is working just as planned.

While Obama did go on to win, the media narrative that the race was over in early September was a self-fulfilling narrative.

I think Hillary is the favorite going into Election Day because the electoral map favors Democrats. But don’t think that the premature celebrations are honest or legitimate – they are just narratives intended to demoralize Trump voters.

You will need to settle for a Farewell Address in 8 years.

Then the delusional Trump will be let out of his Tower where he has spent 8 years thinking he is President.

and there’s more than a few states there that Trump will very likely win, all things being equal (and honest, of course)

    MattMusson in reply to redc1c4. | November 8, 2016 at 9:46 am

It is all about turnout. These are all modeled on 2016 turnout levels. If white people turn out in 2012 levels – Trump wins.

If more Trumpocrats vote for Trump – he wins.
If 2% more of the Middle Class show up and vote Trump – he wins.
If Black Americans vote just 15% for Trump – he wins.

100% of Hispanics could vote Hillary and it will make no difference in these scenarios.

Thank God for the alternate media. There’s little truth or perspective to be found in the msm, and what little there is, you can’t believe, because you can’t believe a word coming out of their mouths.

Thank you, and R.I.P., Andrew Breitbart.

There was a report on Breitbart a week ago, saying that Killary had obtained a permit to celebrate her victory with a fireworks show.

Another report today says that she canceled the fireworks.

Could that mean something?

IMO Dem effort to demoralize Trump voters is less likely to succeed than the effort against Romney or McCain. Trump voters are more enthusiastic than I recall Republican voters being. People have decided most of the MSM is against them & Trump so it is easier to dismiss their predictions and their doom/gloom reports,

Subotai Bahadur in reply to katiejane. | November 7, 2016 at 8:15 pm

We are fighting BOTH parties and the MSM. Both will lie to us reflexively. All we can do is vote and hope that the already encountered vote fraud can be overcome.

If it cannot be overcome, the Republicans assume that Trump voters will come crawling back to accept the next designated gracious loser in the event that there are elections ever again. They also assume that the Trump supporters are somehow a small minority whose loss or defection will be welcomed.

Look at the size of the Trump vote nationwide. If even a fraction of them look elsewhere politically, in the unlikely event that there are ever elections again under the Left, the Republicans will be wiped out.

The closest analog to what is happening now, is the dissolution of the Whigs. What will rise in the place of the Republicans is open, because we are in what is new territory for Americans alive now.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to Subotai Bahadur. | November 7, 2016 at 8:26 pm

Who would have thought a non-politico would take out 16 contenders for the GOP nomination and take a thirty-year politico and supporters down to wire in the face of biased MSM?

Some of us predicted it over a year ago.

        Just sayin’.

2nd Ammendment Mother in reply to DieJustAsHappy. | November 8, 2016 at 10:39 am

You have to admit…. if he pulls it off, it will be a hell of a thing and if he doesn’t win, he’s still accomplished a great deal. Hillary was declared the winner before the race ever began and had the full support of the DNC and MSM from beginning to end. Trump had to run against 16 challengers, Hillary, the Media and a big chunk of his own party to get to where we are today…. which is pretty darned close to a draw.

An average of bad polls is still bad data. I am gonna bitterly cling to the the two polls that were most reliable last time that have Trump ahead, the enormous crowds still gathering for each and every Trump/Pence event, and the fact team Hillary cancelled the fireworks…which shows that they know she won’t be celebrating tomorrow night. I suspect the internal polls are far different that the ones we have been treated to.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to Leslie Eastman. | November 7, 2016 at 8:02 pm

The five-state rallies he had yesterday, though he ran behind schedule, were gutsy and inspiring. Likewise, the crowds were so enthused. He was met by supporters hen he arrived in Leesburg, VA around midnight.

I have no crystal ball, yet I’ve heard more than one seasoned veteran of the political scene say he hadn’t never seen anything like the crowds turning out for Donald Trump.

Looks like I was right! 😀

The map graphic is identical to my own prediction, made in late September. Then came the first debate and the vulgar tapes of Trump and it seemed irrelevant.

Since then, after a great deal of reading and daily projections by Nate Silver I am convinced that the map is THE BEST (but improbable) outcome for Trump. More likely he will lose Nevada and either Florida or North Carolina (or both).

In any event, he cannot win. It is, indeed, over. All that remains is the hope that the GOP can retain the Senate (a 50-50 proposition).

Trumpers are, of course, reality challenged – people in such deep denial that on the eve of the Trump’s loss they work themselves into gibberish over the bias in the MSM and rumors of canceled fireworks show. The same delirium regarding Mitt Romney is gripping ever faithful Trump true believers.

It’s over folks – arguably it was over when Indiana Republican voters gave the GOP the worst possible choice (while sending the most likely general election winners, Rubio and Katish, or even Cruz, packing).

Trumpers should, of course, be very happy. Before they thought Trump could win the nomination they were gushing how great it was going to be when the GOPe and the party were destroyed. They said they didn’t care, they wanted revenge.

As they say, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it”.

Well, tomorrow they are getting it – good and hard.

You may get what you want but you will eventually not want what you got. I guess the view from your first class deck chair (RMS Titanic) is fine with plenty of champagne and a whole new bunch of ice to chill it. “Stronger Together” sounds like a great line for the rowers of a slave galley. You may relish the thought but I am saddened that the choice includes abandoning American citizens for a culture drowning flood of poorly educated or ideologically driven immigrants legal or otherwise. “The single raindrop never feels responsible for the flood.”

Who do you think is stoking the boilers on all the ships making the passage? The stokers didn’t sink the Titanic.

I won’t get what I want, 14 million dim-bulbs are the ones who decided to show “the elites” how to give the worst Democratic candidate in modern history a lifeline by nominating Trump. Had “I” gotten what I wanted, tomorrow we’d be hailing the victory of Cruz, or at least Rubio, Walker, Kasich, Fiorina, or many others – instead we got bunkered Trumpian diehards in La-la land pushing their favorite whack-a-doodle.

As we read “ignore the polls” (as we have been told for nine months) tomorrow…the voters will confirm what the Trump cultists deny…Trump is a loser.

And so, while you are repeating childish feel-good pablum about “those” imperial elites and “us” slaves (a worn formulaic cliche) you do make one ironic point; your sadness over the prospect of “abandoning American citizens” drove you to choose a fake (who tried to reverse his immigration stance in mid election) that was most likely to lose.

Trumplings were fools, and tomorrow they (and those abandoned Americans) will pay for their foolishness.

So Mark, what were your total vote numbers and how many voted Trump and how many voted Hillary?

If you modeled all this – give me your topline. Of course, I think you are talking out your wazoo. I modeled it on demographics and voter turnout and Trump is clearly ahead.

Well, it could do anything…
But, I believe Hillary has a huge enthusiasm gap that she won’t be able to overcome.
That is my guess.

Add PA, MI, NH and Colorado to the Trump column and you’ll have what will happen tomorrow when millions of deplorables flood the polls. Trump will have no fewer than 308 electoral votes. No possible path for Krooked Klinton.

This is all rather stupid considering that the facts will be apparent in a very short time unless it is conservatives who don’t want to deal in facts and start screaming ‘fix’ without any evidence or FACTS.

The premise of this article is that liberals invent phony polls to discourage conservatives from bothering to vote. If you can be that easily discouraged, just give up now.

stevewhitemd in reply to PaddyORyan. | November 7, 2016 at 8:29 pm

I’d like to see that happen. New Hampshire and Colorado are, I think within reach. If Mr. Trump wins those two and the other states that the RCP map projects, we’ll be addressing him as “President Trump.”

I think Michigan is a bridge too far, and Pennsylvania always flirts Pub before going Dem. Philadelphia and the collar suburbs will give Ms. Clinton her margin there, even as the rest of the state is solid red. Not that I’d mind if they both flipped red, of course.

But I think the best case is Trump ~280 electoral votes, enough ahead that any shenanigans from the Dems with the Electoral College will fail. Woe be to any state that Trump wins by less than one-half percent; the Dem lawyers will come down like locusts.

DieJustAsHappy in reply to stevewhitemd. | November 7, 2016 at 10:06 pm

Quite a rally tonight in Manchester, N.H., with both Trump and Pence there with their families. They’re leaving from there to go to Michigan. So, it would seem they think MI is still a possibility.

Massinsanity in reply to stevewhitemd. | November 8, 2016 at 9:45 am

The outcome in NH will likely be determined by how many busloads of MA residents the DNC is able to drag up to NH to vote. NH same day registration laws make it easy to steal an election.

And looking at the map, this race could be decided by NH.

OnlyRightDissentAllowed | November 7, 2016 at 8:18 pm

Yes, but what about the betting pools? Are they corrupt, too? You can get 4-1 on Trump right now. Hurry on down. Only hours to go.

Their data is no better than ours. They have the same information we have. It’s not as if they’re getting the private campaign polls.

We’ll see by the end of tomorrow.

OnlyRightDissentAllowed in reply to stevewhitemd. | November 7, 2016 at 8:51 pm

Your are technically correct. But the betting markets are an independent barometer.

I like that we probably will know Wednesday because most arguments don’t have finality. Since so many states are close, one or the other will probably have legitimate cause for recounts. The question is: Will the loser concede when his/her legal avenues are closed?

I don’t want to hear about the election being rigged. Every election after Washington’s was dirty. The Constitution just says you have to get 270 Electors.

thalesofmiletus in reply to OnlyRightDissentAllowed. | November 8, 2016 at 9:53 am

OnlyRightDissentAllowed in reply to thalesofmiletus. | November 8, 2016 at 11:10 am

28 commercial bookmakers in the UK are gamed? They deal in real money and have been proved over and over again to be more accurate than any poll. These commercial bookmakers have sophisticated software and long experience at detecting any abnormality in any bet they take because their profits depend upon that. They are often the 1st ones to alert authorities of potential fraud because it is their business to recognize irregularities.

No person; no organization gets it right every time. But I would bet on the bookies before I would bet on you.

Educating the ignorant is getting to be tiresome. When you have people who prefer to believe what they wish over what is fact, you get candidates like Trump. Trump can literally contradict himself in a sentence. That is hard to do.

Flick the media!

TRUMP 2016! Watch the melt down when Trump wins!
They will completely lose it and go Bat *hit crazy!

It isn’t over until it’s over. I, and many others, are continuing to try to persuade folks to vote Trump.

I’ve posted this elsewhere, but it bears repeating. I heard Victor Davis Hanson on the Dennis Prager show today and he gave a partial list of issues that Trump and Hillary differ on. If Trump were better on just two or three, he would get my vote (assuming he wasn’t worse on even more). But he is better on every. single. one. (speaking as a conservative)

I never try to defend Trump the man. I just point out the differences on issue after issue.

If you think Ragspierre and I are the same person, you are so fixed in your delusions that you not only shouldn’t vote, but you should not be allowed outside without a keeper.

Excuse me, but why does ANYONE give any credence to the mainstream pollsters? Is there any reason to assume that they have suddenly become accurate, after being horribly skewed for the last 8 months?

Ignore the polling. It is all suspect,at best. Look at the turnout at the rallies. Hillary gets less than 1000 people at her events, unless she has an A list celebrity shilling for her and then she only gets about 1/4 – 1/3 of the crowd that Trump gets when he pulls up to a hanger at the airport for an hour. Trump averages around 12,000 people at each and every rally. The people who attend rallies, especially where there is no free food, drink or entertainment, are the people who go to the polls and vote. Based upon the attendance, Trump will have a significantly larger living, legal voter turn out than Hillary. And, if Dem vote fraud is kept low, it is almost assured that Trump will win handily. If there is a significant amount of vote fraud, and Trump loses, then there is a very good chance that many people, possibly even a majority, will not accept the results and it becomes anyone’s guess what will happen next. Trump supporters are demanding that those in power play by the existing rules. If it becomes apparent that those in power refuse to follow the rules, then the electorate will adopt the same philosophy. This could be catastrophic for the country.

A fraudulent election only furthers the interests of those who seek to destroy this country. Hopefully, this will be an honest election. If it is, then Trump will win. If not… well, your guess is as good as mine.

    OnlyRightDissentAllowed in reply to Mac45. | November 7, 2016 at 9:39 pm

Interesting. Either tRump wins or it is a fraudulent election because tRump has big crowds. I think the big crowds going to the polls are the only crowds that count.

You are allowed to protest peacefully. I have done that.

I suppose I should weigh in.

The polls are mere noise. My prediction is unchanged—landslide of seismic proportions for Trump.

The only thing which can put the Candidate from the Fiery Pit into the White House is voter fraud of a magnitude the US hasn’t seen in nearly a century and a half.

So, just how pervasive is voter fraud? We don’t know. We know there’s some—far more than there should be. And it’s a pretty fair guess that there’s far more than has been discovered so far. But a quantitative estimate seems to be impossible.

If some parts of the internet start working erratically, or stop working at all, that will be a major clue that the fraud is yuuuge and somebody doesn’t want the electorate to know. (There’s no danger of such news getting out over the air or the cable networks.)

A very good indicator to judge the accuracy of the polls is the left wing websites such as daily kos or huff post. If those websites are giddy, then they reflect a solid left win, if they are solemn, then it reflects a probable right win. If nothing else – it gets us out of our echo chamber bubble.

My guess based on the giddiness (or the lack thereor) of the Huff post is that it will be close. We wont know until wednesday morning.

cheers.

A friend of mine is organizing for Trump in Pennsylvania. He asked for 20 volunteers to drive the Amish to vote. He got 1500.

Based on my poll, Trump is going to win by a landslide. 😀

When it is over tomorrow… will it be over?
This could be a running war.
I think hanging chads are quite inane compared to what we may be witness to.
Is this the record thread here?

One problem with polls is that they did’t count first time Hispanics as likely voters. In NV, FL they can make the difference. I hope Rubio survives.

Rags: “Since Bernie’s supporters want socialism, it will be interesting to see the coalition.”

You and the bois from OccupyWhatever will get along swell. And be about as effective.

Trump 2016

The polls are the polls. Look at the behavior of both camps.

The problem with a disinformation campaign is that smart people bury nuggets of truth in the campaign so that you wind up doubting your beliefs. In the end it starts wearing you mdown so you don’t know what to believe. I believe Trump will win big but not big enough for it to be a landslide. But so much negative press has me doubting myown beliefs. Indeed this is the time that tries mens souls.

Since 1994, Democrats have learned not to admit defeat when they are losing, but I get a feeling from their team similar to 2010 ( and 1994 all except for the losing part ).

Without a doubt Trump’s supporters are more enthusiastic, and Trump has worked much harder to win. Part of the “it’s over” narrative since June has been an excuse for why Hillary doesn’t campaign more.

In the end I think it will come down to this: will Trump be able to generate more votes then Hillary steals? I think so but I may be underestimating Hillary’s abilities to steal.

I also thuink if Hillary wins, the demographics will be such that the Republican’s never again win.

Well, I just read that in a last ditch effort to demoralize and suppress Trump’s turnout, Votecaster (acting in a partnership with Slate) will be releasing (predictably pro-Hillary) exit polls THROUGHOUT THE DAY TOMORROW, WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE POLLS IN THE RELEVANT STATE TO CLOSE.

Is there nothing they won’t stoop to?

There’s another reason for publicizing bogus statistics, aside from suppressing one side’s turnout. And that is covering up fraud in the final vote tally.

If a vote modified by fraud matches prior polls, the result will seem less suspicious, even though both have been jiggered.

If, however, the polls are accurate and show one party dominating, but the vote seems to show a clear win for the other party, far more people will suspect funny business in the vote count.

Wise words,

The BBC tried this with Brexit, proclaiming the exit polls as proof the UK was staying in the EU.

I, and many others, took great delight in their depressed state following the outcome because the truly never saw the result coming. It was akin to proclaiming the house isn’t on fire because they were inside looking put through the windows wondering why everyone was pointing.

“I won” sounds just like Obama, dunnit…???

Finally remembered what I was thinking about this morning….. the one thing the media has been desperately trying to accomplish was to get Trump to declare himself a loser or make pledges for when he’s a loser. Anything they could think of to get Trump to say “when I lose”…. once that phrase crossed his lips they could begin selling the idea of Trump losing to his supporters.

But anyone who has ever watched Trump realizes he’s the kind of guy who will go down fighting until the very last minute. He has never once uttered a single word of forfeit to the opposition no matter how tightly pressed.

On the other hand, Hillary has never been asked to posit on the potential she might lose, in fact, she has been told she will win long before the first candidate ever officially filed for the race. Her followers don’t believe she can lose because they’ve been told she can’t lose.

Just some pondering on the head games we’ve been watching.
