Liz Cheney reacts to FBI image of Trump documents from Mar-a-Lago

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) took to Twitter after the Department of Justice released a photograph of classified documents obtained during the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.

Cheney, who has been a major critic of the former president, claimed the image revealed “yet more indefensible conduct by Donald Trump revealed this morning,” according to a tweet posted Wednesday from her account.

The congresswoman, who recently lost her reelection bid to represent Wyoming in Congress, claimed she could have won the party’s nomination in a tweet last week, had she decided to side with the former president in his allegation that the 2020 election was “stolen” by widespread voter fraud.

The FBI’s photograph, which was released in the DOJ’s response to Trump’s request for a special master to look at the materials taken by federal officials during the search, was apparently taken at Mar-a-Lago. The photo provoked ridicule from the former spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris, Symone Sanders-Townsend.

“1) I cannot believe pictures of these documents are on the internet,” Sanders-Townsend tweeted. “Truly I would have never imagined this when I worked at the WH. 2) WTF is going on with this carpet?!?”

The DOJ said the image was a “redacted FBI photograph of certain documents and classified cover sheets recovered from a container in the ’45 office,” according to the court filing.
