Mark Levin says Schumer should be on trial for threatening the Supreme Court

Conservative radio host Mark Levin says Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer should be on trial for comments he made about the Supreme Court last year.

“He’s the one that should be on trial and all the other reprobates that have for decades been threatening the American people and making outrageous comments to try to stir up and create fringies among their own base,” Levin said about Schumer on Fox News Wednesday night.

“He threatened two U.S. Supreme Court justices,” he continued, referencing Schumer’s comment last March telling Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch that they will “pay” if they don’t rule his way on abortion.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer said at an abortion rights rally. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Levin told Hannity that Schumer’s statement was a direct threat to the Supreme Court.

“He threatened the Supreme Court,” Levin said. “He assembled a mob on the stairs of a Supreme Court that tried to break into the Supreme Court, but for that 13-foot bronze door there. And he warns those justices that they are, in fact, in for hell if they don’t vote the way he wants. He threatened the Supreme Court. He used the Kavanaugh hearings him as Mollie Hemingway so brilliantly wrote, ‘to convene a mob, to disrupt hearings.’”

Former President Donald Trump is facing an impeachment trial in the Senate, slated to begin on Tuesday, over the allegation that Trump incited an “insurrection” on Capitol Hill last month.

Many prominent conservatives, including Levin, have argued that the process is unconstitutional since Trump is no longer the president. Sen. Rand Paul has also made the case that the absence of Chief Justice John Roberts at the trial makes the process an “illegitimate procedure.”
