A threatening note was left for Senator Dean Heller after someone broke into his Las Vegas office Saturday morning, according to an 8 News NOW source close to the story.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirms there was an entry made to the offices located at 8930 W. Sunset which is the location of Sen. Heller’s office.

LVMPD would not confirm the information about the threatening note.

8 News NOW reached out to Sen. Heller’s office. A spokesperson replied, “we can’t comment on/discuss ongoing investigations.”

8 News NOW has also reached out to the FBI because any threat to the life or safety of a U.S. Senator could be a matter for the agency.

Sen. Heller has been in the national spotlight recently because he’s considered a possible swing vote as Republicans try to pass their health care bill.
