Nicolle Wallace, the chief political analyst for MSNBC, accused Attorney General William Barr Thursday of spinning for President Trump.
She criticized Barr as the new Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary, for his press conference on special counsel Robert Mueller’s report Thursday morning, arguing Barr was prioritizing protecting the president over acting as the head of the Department of Justice.
“It also explains why we haven’t seen Sarah Sanders in a while. The administration has a new messenger, one with a lot more stature. He’s the attorney general,” Wallace said on MSNBC.
On @MSNBC Brian Williams says Bill Barr might go down as “The AG who took one for the team.”

She also accused Trump of colluding with WikiLeaks, after Barr’s press conference comments that there wasn’t evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election.
“The Trump campaign did collude with WikiLeaks. No crime was committed. We should all celebrate that, that our president and his campaign didn’t commit a crime,” Wallace said on MSNBC.

Wallace’s accusation of collusion with WikiLeaks is a reference to Trump’s effuse praise for the organization during the 2016 election.
The Mueller report is the 400-plus-page summary of the investigation done by Mueller into whether Trump and his campaign colluded with the Russian government during the 2016 election.
