Anti-abortion ad to air before Democratic primary debate

An ad urging politicians to end abortion extremism is set to air before Wednesday night’s Democratic presidential debate on MSNBC.

Members of March For Life Action provided statistics, including 8 in 10 Americans supporting restrictions on abortion and 6 in 10 pro-abortion Americans supporting limiting abortions to the first trimester of pregnancy.

“America has consensus,” they said. “But it’s not the law. Why? Pro-choice politicians.”

The women cited the pro-abortion politicians who support legalizing abortion right up until birth, including the candidates who attended a Planned Parenthood forum Saturday defending abortion rights under any circumstance.

In general, the majority of the candidates in the 2020 race support repealing the Hyde Amendment, which bans federal funding for abortions; codifying Roe v. Wade in statute; repealing the domestic and global gag rules; and a Roe litmus test for federal judges.

“It’s time for politicians to stop working for the pro-abortion lobby,” one of the people in the ad said, referencing two-thirds of Americans who oppose taxpayer-funded abortion.

Joe Biden, the front-runner, proposed a healthcare plan to provide federally funded health care for all women, along with Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare for all plan,” including abortion rights.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren also presented a detailed reproductive rights plan with a legislative protection of abortion rights, even if Roe were overruled.

“No way,” the anti-abortion women said. “It’s time for this extremism to end. It’s time for our voices to be heard.”

In addition to the ad, March For Life member Jeanne Mancini said in a statement, “Planned Parenthood receives hundreds of millions in private donations. The truth is they can fund themselves.”

“The Democratic establishment would do well to listen to the American people — or even just their base — instead of caving into the pressure of the abortion lobby,” Mancini said.
