Fox News hasn’t tweeted since Nov. 8 — a whole month — leaving 18.3 million followers in the dark over why.
Along with their associated Twitter accounts like Fox News Poll, Fox News Politics, and Fox Business, the company seems to have put a Twitter boycott in place, but haven’t released any explanation as to why or put out any demands for change that would lead to their return.
The accounts have remained silent despite big world events such as the death of former President George H. W. Bush and the G-20 summit.
Fox News’ refusal to use the social media platform coincides with the doxing of host Tucker Carlson’s address on it and a large group of Antifa protesters showing up at Carlson’s home in early November. This is the suspected reason for the conservative-leaning cable news network choosing to avoid Twitter, but they continue to not confirm for certain.
A content manager for Tribune Media, Scott Gustin, tweeted back in November that he was told by a Fox employee that the decision to silence the Twitter accounts was made “from the highest level” and that the silence would persist until the company removed tweets of Carlson’s address and apologized for improperly handling the incident.
The Twitter account accused of originally posting the address and organizing the protest at Carlson’s home has been suspended.
Source indicated Fox will remain silent until Twitter removes the tweets and apologizes for mishandling the situation.

Gustin also says that Facebook was quick to react when alerted of posts containing Carlson’s personal information, but Twitter support only insisted that a ticket be opened.
According to source, Facebook was prompt when alerted to posts that included his home address. Twitter support reportedly told Fox to “open a ticket” and did not remove the posts.

Fox News has declined to comment on the state of their Twitter accounts.
